Two of the best offensive lines in the country: They’re often overlooked, but offensive lines are still a fundamental part of the game, even as it evolves. It’s no coincidence that two of the teams with the best lines in the country have come this far.

Orange Bowl prediction, picks

These teams are so similar that I have difficulty imagining either one will be able to pull too far away from the other. That’s not to say neither team is capable of winning the game by multiple scores if things get sideways, but most of the outcomes should be within a touchdown.

While it might not have been the draw most wanted, Michigan football found its way into the College Football Playoff, where it will take on a Georgia team in the Capital One Orange Bowl that most believed was unbeatable for much of the season.

Michigan will look more aggressive than usual

Call this the same as starting fast, but Michigan has put more of a premium this year on getting out to early leads. Particularly against Wisconsin, Ohio State and Iowa, we saw the Wolverines come out aggressively to start the game, setting the tone early.

Michigan gets over 150 yards rushing

Ohio State had the No. 11 rush defense before Michigan football put up 297 yards on the ground. Other top rush defenses, Wisconsin and Iowa, were more stout. So what will happen against the nation’s third-best rush defense?

Georgia held to 350 yards of total offense

The Bulldogs are more reliant on their defense than offense, but the offense is no slouch. Aidan Hutchinson and David Ojabo combine for 3 sacks

The teams that are able to contain Aidan Hutchinson seldom do it for long. And if they do, they have a more mobile quarterback or one with a quick release. Even then, David Ojabo is usually waiting in the wings.

Cade McNamara is also sacked three times

Michigan might have a solid offensive line that protects incredibly well, but Georgia will also feature the best pass rush the Wolverines have seen all year. These all can’t be positive bold predictions. That said. . .

George Pickens is a problem

Georgia had an undefeated regular season despite being without its star receiver until the final game against Georgia Tech. He also played in the SEC Championship game. While he wasn’t necessarily setting the roof on fire in either game, having a month to get back into the swing of things certainly will help.
